Hesketh Wines

Clare Valley Riesling

Our Riesling is fermented to dry in stainless steel with limited skin contact (two hours) to make a clean and vibrant style. This method also accentuates the varietal and regional attributes in the form of bright citrus flavours and fresh mineral acidity.

Wine Press and Accolades

Gold Medal - Shanghai International Wine Awards – Nov 2017

90 points – Campbell Mattinson - 2017 Wine Companion – Aug 2016

“Grown in the Polish Hill River and Watervale districts. It’s lively with talc and lime flavours and edged with spice. It’s dry. It has enough penetration to satisfy but also the flavour and accessibility to woo now. ”

91 points – Tony Keys - The Key Report – Mar 2016

“This hit me straight off with all the things like a Riesling to hit me with. A touch disjointed and I’m not sure if that will work itself out, we will see. 91 points and very good value at $18.”

Huon Hooke - Hooked on Wine – Dec 2015

“The bouquet is very floral and open-knit, with stone fruit aromas, and the palate is soft and mellow and starting to show some positive development; a lovely wine starting to mature, fine and seamless on the palate”

Jeni Port - Good Food – Jan 2016

“With the winemaker Phil Lehmann at the winemaking helm, Hesketh goes from strength to strength. He’s a natural when it comes to Riesling and what a beaut he delivers here from the Clare Valley from an outstanding year. Masterful acid-fruit balance on display, such sip and bounce and tasty lemon-grapefruit flavour. Back story: Phil Lehmann is son of the late, legendary Barossa Valley maker, Peter Lehmann”
